About

Santana in Concert

Few musicians in the history of American popular music inspire the same reverence as Carlos Santana. For more than four decades, he has been one of the music world's most distinctive and exciting guitarists, maintaining his reputation as an artist who continues to revolutionize the form.

Long before listeners knew terms like "fusion" and "world music," Santana was already a master who blended genres and traditions into a sound that was all his own. It's no wonder the young guitarist generated so much excitement as a foremost member of the Bay Area's fertile music community of the late 1960s.

With the release of his debut album Santana and an incendiary set at Woodstock in 1969, Santana established himself as one of the key artists of the era, gaining worldwide fame for his band's combination of Latin, jazz, blues, rock, and R&B. The new star proved his staying power when Santana remained on the Billboard charts and successors Abraxas and Santana III both reached No. 1.

In 1998, Santana was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In addition to racking up career sales of more than 100 million records, he earned another spot in history books when Supernatural — the multiplatinum 1999 album that included such hits as "Smooth" and "Maria Maria" — won nine Grammy Awards, tying the record for most wins by a single project.

In 2014, he published his best-selling memoir, The Universal Tone: Bringing My Story to Light. Among his recent musical endeavors has been Santana IV, a thrilling album that saw him reunite with musicians from his band's early-‘70s lineup; and Power of Peace, a deeply soulful collaboration with The Isley Brothers.

Santana returned with more new music in 2019. In Search of Mona Lisa is an EP featuring three instrumentals inspired by the awe he felt the first time he saw Leonardo da Vinci's painting during a visit to the Louvre. Santana continues to inspire the same reaction at shows by the current incarnation of the band that bears his name. His team of first-tier players includes drummer Cindy Blackman Santana (Lenny Kravitz, Pharoah Sanders), bassist Benny Rietveld (Miles Davis, Sheila E.), keyboardist David K. Mathews (Tower of Power, Etta James), and percussionist Karl Perazzo (Mariah Carey, Tito Puente).

Santana on Tour

Grammy Award-winning, legendary artists Carlos Santana and Earth, Wind & Fire embark on a North American tour. A continuation of 2019's Supernatural Now tour for Santana, the Miraculous Supernatural 2020 Tour marks the first time these two powerhouses share the stage in the U.S. The Live Nation-produced outing kicks off June 19th in San Diego and makes stops in Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, Chicago, Toronto, and more before wrapping August 29th in Tampa.

Santana, and his band (which also features Santana's wife, Cindy Blackman Santana) highlight songs from both his Supernatural and Woodstock eras, as well as newer tracks from his 2019 full-length album Africa Speaks and some incredible surprises. Earth, Wind & Fire is one of music's most celebrated musical forces in history with an iconic music catalog that has been the soundtrack of millions of lives around the world.

In 2019, Santana celebrated the 20th anniversary of his revolutionary, multiple Grammy Award-wining album Supernatural, along with the 50th anniversary of his Woodstock performance. Santana's 1999 album Supernatural featured the back-to-back No. 1 singles "Smooth" and "Maria Maria" and sold over 30 million copies worldwide, topping the charts in over a dozen countries and sweeping the 2000 Grammy Awards.

    Didn’t know what I was getting into…

by Deb on 5/13/24House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Carlos Santana and his band did a fantastic job. The show was excellent and I am thrilled I got to see this legend. Two massive drum kits and bongos… The percussion did not disappoint. There was no opening band, so to those going out to see Santana in the future… He starts when he starts and he starts on time… He means it! My review only gets three stars because of the venue and the way Ticketmaster sold the tickets. There was not enough description on what I was getting when I purchased a ticket in “La Zona Fiesta”. Only after I made the purchase, did the detail show me that I was in general admission… Standing only! Since the tickets in this party zone were the most expensive, I figured they were the best and I went for it. I should have picked a ticket that had an actual seat. House of Blues removed all barstools, and the only place to sit was if you were at a high top cocktail table that you bought a ticket for that seat. I was surprised that the most expensive ticket in the house was not the best viewing in the house. And there is no way that this was a party zone. I don’t know what was up with the crowd, but no one was dancing or partying. They were standing there taking pictures and filming with their phones. There came a point in the show when Carlos had a little something to say, and it sure would’ve been nice to hear it, but people wouldn’t stop talking and listen to him. It was so rude.

    Amazing concert

by ChrisK on 5/13/24House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

It was amazing experience to attend Santana’s concert in a club house environment. Much better than in a large concert arena. The atmosphere was fantastic. Music was great. Each musician gave us a solo performance which was a blast. It was my first time experience watching Santana life after 50 years of listening at home. Thank you Mr.Santana for great performance.

    Wish I was taller

by Lana on 5/13/24House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Santana is fabulous. This is the second time we've seen him and he was just as good. I'm pretty sure no matter your age or music genre you would like this concert . As for the venue.... I did not understand that general admission was standing. That was not good. First I'm 5'4"the guy in front of me 6'3"I'm guessing. Although he tried to stand to the side he was getting moved around by people who wanted to see . We also seemed to be the path in and out of the standing area so we had a lot of drinks spilled on us mostly our feet but nonetheless it wasn't fun. They did have screens around the room but even trying to see anything on that made my neck sore ( whaa ) to wrap things up... Santana excellent 5 stars... House of blues 3 stars.... needs a height chart for where you can stand ! I will definitely pay more attention to seating if I go again.

    Still sounds amazing

by Geoff L on 5/13/24House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Still sounds amazing (at 76 I believe.) Doesn't say or move much but that's understandable. House of Blues was over sold and qay too packed in general admission. I don't mint standingbin the pit, but it was ridiculas. Packed in like sardines with no way in or out. Definately had a negative impact and Took away from the show.

    Santana fans, don’t miss this.

by Maggie on 5/13/24House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Loved Santana for 30 odd years and this didn’t disappoint. I went with two people who knew a couple of the songs and they thought it was brilliant as well, despite some idiots in front of us! Carlos himself is still a genius (wished he didn’t chew gum throughout, but never mind) and the band and lead singer more than did their part too. Great night dancing and singing along.

    Worth the trip from Canada

by Tara on 5/13/24House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Such an amazing show!! I still can’t believe how good it was. Santana’s music spreads love and good vibes all over the world! We even met people from Germany, who just like us, came to Vegas to see Santana for this once in a lifetime experience. We loved every minute of the concert.
